“Stop Judging” 🍓
upon realizing I had been doing just that
A truck drove by me.
It was rough looking.
The company name on the side.
It sure wasn’t flashy.
It wasn’t shiny.
It was old.
It had been on the road for some years.
🍓
I thought about how easy it would be to judge.
Man, that truck looks terrible.
He should fix that truck up.
And then I thought about how in the same moment we could just not.
Each circumstance I have in which I can judge, is at the exact same time, a circumstance I can choose to show up with grace in.
Few would notice.
Unless I spoke with words.
No one would applaud.
But Jesus would have known the entire time.
And that’s what matters.
🍓
& as I sit here and recount this to you, I realize, in taking up judging, as if it’s a hobby, we can neglect prayer.
How many people have you judged but not prayed for?
What if we spend a little time, just thinking about those instances and saying little prayers for those people today?
How much richer will their lives be because of it?
🍓
So next time you feel like judging: take the same moment you can judge in, and choose grace, the same grace our Jesus extends to us, day-after-day.
