THANK GOD 4 CONTENTMENT 💛
There is so much much a person could want, it’s not hard to find things to want either. At the same time God is so very loving, He is also wise, He knows how to get us what we need.
You may know, there is just so much stuff, so many things that can catch our eye, and sometimes it can be so easy to want so much. But lately I just feel like I haven’t been content, I’ve been too busy trying to get many of my wants, I’ve searched for pretty things and felt like I needed them. There were simple t-shirts and new necklaces… Then there was new nail polish and makeup… I was at a store the other day trying to talk myself out of a shirt, partly because I’m tired of feeling unhappy because of wants. Thank God He is a help to us, even when it comes to wanting too much stuff! :)
A verse that is a great reminder for me :)
Hebrews 13:5 says:
“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.””
He won’t leave.
He won’t forsake.
Isn’t that nice to hear?
He is my source and I thank Him for that!
I realize I am not the only one who has been too focused on getting more fun, pretty, patterned, shiny things. I also must not be the only one realizing my lack of enthusiasm for it. I think it’s time for me to really try and be content, and that’s going to mean finding that in Jesus Christ.
Some verses I read this morning:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8 NKJV
He hasn’t changed! He is still Jesus!
🌼
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
John 15:9-12 NKJV
💛
Stuff cannot make us happy.
Jesus brings joy!!
☀️
“Grace be with you all. Amen.”
Hebrews 13:25 NKJV
May we remember there is grace for us, knowing that He is loving and forgiving!
