a short Psalm to remind you to praise the One who is worthy of your praise!
HAPPY TUESDAY!
Here is a tiny Psalm for you to read! Take some notes as you do (if you’d like!) I’ll give you some ideas, but also pray you will be led by the Lord. Then if you’d like you can scroll down to the things that I noted and highlighted. A little mini internet Bible study! Let me know what stuck out to you in this passage, not looking for comments for number sake, but to have a little discussion like a Bible study would have! 💚
love ya,

Ideas for Notes:
What about this is relating to me personally? What is sticking out as something I may have felt on my mind lately?
What can I take from this and start applying to my life?
What is something that really inspired me here in this text?
What is God trying to teach me?
Is there a part of this text that challenged an idea I had or reminded me of something I had forgotten?
Is there something here that has inspired me to write more about it?
Does this remind me of another scripture?
What does this tell me about the character of God?
Psalm 146 NKJV:
Okay! Take some time to reflect on what God is teaching you and what you are learning through this!
Now…
My Notes:
in verse 1 & 2 it stuck out that praise was a focus. The exclamation of praise here reminded me to be more exited to praise the Lord as well, not just feeling like I have to but that I want to and am joyful about it more often.
In verses 3 & 4 it struck me how greatly we can trust the Lord, how He is worthy of our trust and helpful, that doesn’t quit randomly, because He is eternal. He won’t die.
Verse 5 reminds us of heritage, of the connection between Jacob and God. I also want to note that it reminds us that the people who have God (Jacob’s God as well) for their help are happy. I always find it interesting when the Bible reminds us how to be happy. So many are searching for that happiness and it is from our Lord. How blessed are we to have found that and God!
Verse 6 reminds us who made all of this, God. And that there is long length in the keeping of truth, he doesn’t forget it, he keeps it forever.
Verse 7 is a lovely reminder that God cares about justice, also acting to make it known, and cares for the oppressed, He himself helping feed the hungry. If he is feeding the hungry why aren’t we? The last bit here is that he gives freedom to the prisoners, reminding me that there will likely be former criminals in heaven who had found Jesus and freedom and been redeemed. That redemption, though hard at times to understand is beautiful. Second chances for the broken. Pray with me for the oppressed, hungry, and imprisoned today and those families too.

In verse 8-9 I had to note the repetition of “The LORD”, we can be sure this is who these actions that follow are from. If you look I highlighted in pink all of the verbs-the action words. God opens, raises, loves, watches, relieves and turns. Remember that when you wonder what God is doing! :) Are you reminded of yourself in any of this? It says He loves the righteous, so let’s be righteous!! The reminder that He turns the way of the wicked upside down reminds me of what we already read about Him caring about the oppressed and for justice.
And the last verse of this passage is verse 10. I love that stability knowing the Lord will reign always, forever, non stop! This scripture passage started with the reminder that this is the God who also was Jacob’s God, in verse 10 there is that reminder of heritage again as we read about Zion and the generations. This Psalm ends with the same three words it began with: praise the LORD. Yes. Praise the LORD indeed.
I walk away from this Psalm with a greater desire to worship with joy! I am reminded that when I am wondering why God isn’t responding right away the way I want, that He is working, as reminded to me while reading through verses 8 and 9. He is doing a lot. (not too busy, but just that He is working at things and I can rest in that!) I feel that we should find ways to care for and support the widows, the hungry, the orphans, oppressed etc. May we remember to pray for those who are seeking justice, those in prison who may have been wrongfully placed there, may justice be served, may our God bless those who are righteous, may we ourselves be those people. There is so much to say! What a wonderful Psalm!
Have a WONDERFUL day!!
